Education Review Office Report

The Nanny Company is a chartered service with The Ministry of Education and receives bulk funding for the services it provides. In return the Ministry of Education require the Education Review Office (ERO) undertake regular reviews of The Nanny Company to ensure that we are meeting our charter and legal requirements.

We welcomed the Education Review Office in December 2007 to undertake their regular review of our service. The following are excerpts from the review team report. A link to the full report is located at the bottom of this page.

We are thrilled with the findings!

"Children demonstrate a strong sense of wellbeing and belonging and are supported by caring, nurturing nannies/educators. Learning and development is fostered through a variety of activities, equipment and community outing. Fortnightly outings, run by The Nanny Company, provide opportunities for children and nannies/educators to have a wider social contact with others in the service."

"Programme Managers effectively support the practice of nannies/educators. They maintain positive, warm relationships through regular visits, and work collaboratively with nannies/educators to provide good quality care and education for children. "

"Children’s learning and development is valued and shared. Attractive learning journals keep parents well informed about their child's learning. Programme managers also communicate with the children's families encouraging their contribution in learning programmes."

"Good management systems have been developed. Appropriate levels of resourcing are provided for nannies/educators and programme managers to extend their knowledge and skills in early childhood education. Internal review is seen as an important part of the continuous practice of improving services to children and their families. Senior managers provide a comprehensive service that helps families access care and support appropriate to the needs of their children."
